Let’s take a look at what’s included when booking a towbar installation from Speedy Towbars. Our aim is to provide you with a setup that is ready as soon as you drive away.

Keep in mind, however, there are additional installs that may be required depending on your towing setup. Things like electric brake controllers and Anderson plugs, 12-pin sockets and other 12v accessories. These aren’t part of your standard towbar installation.

What’s Included in the Standard Package

The Towbar

A towbar installation at Speedy Towbars will include a quality Australian-made towbar, fitted by experienced technicians. We only use leading Australian towing gear, with brands including Towrite, Hayman Reese, Trailboss and Tag. With these brands, you’re getting hardware that’s tried and tested in Australian conditions, whether you need it for weekend trips or full-time work use.

Ballmount, Towball and Ball Cover

We supply and fit the ballmount, the towball and a protective ball cover. It’s the complete pairing for general trailer towing, and it’s matched to your vehicle’s tow rating.

Trailer Wiring Included

All towbar installs come with trailer wiring unless requested otherwise. Your towbar will come with:

• Universal or vehicle-specific wiring harness, depending on your make and model
• A 7-pin flat or 7-pin Round trailer plug (we will ask you for which plug you need), neatly mounted and tested with our Lightboards 
• Standard towbar wiring includes tail lights, brake lights, and both left and right indicators that will function on your trailer.
  

All wiring is tested and ready to go when you pick up your vehicle. 

Additional Wiring or Add-Ons

If you tow caravans, camper trailers, horse floats or anything with extra electrics, you might need a few upgrades. We can take care of those too:

• Electric brake controllers: We stock the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite, the Tow-Pro Link as well as the Elecbrakes brake controllers. 
• Anderson plugs: For connecting accessories in your vehicle or charging auxiliary batteries in your caravan or trailer. 
• 12-pin plugs: If you need more than basic lighting power, a 12-pin plug is for you. 

If any of those extra add-ons are required, please enquire and book them in with your towbar installation. We also understand that your needs will evolve over time and different accessories may be needed at a later stage. We’re always happy to accommodate separate brake unit or 12v wiring installs down the track, even if we didn’t fit your towbar.
